The client, I Am You Non-Profit provides mentoring, etiquette training, and career development for at-risk teenage girls, and provides a live business model at their on-site boutique. The space has kind of a mish-mash of functions, so it has been a challenge. Oh, and did I mention the space they're moving into is 4x smaller than the previous space....and I only have a month....and our budget is about $700....So, yeah.
Included in the client's requests were the following:
- A window display
- A personal office
- A stage for fashion shows and speaking engagements
- Sewing space for 15 people
- Multi-functional storage solutions
- Lockers for students and volunteers
- A different scheme in each of the three rooms
- That we recycle as much as possible
- LOTS OF RED
Here are pics of the previous space and the furniture/artwork/materials we are going to try to reuse:

It was a mess, right? They definitely needed me, and I am glad to be helping! We are about halfway through construction, and I am getting really excited. It is scary to be in charge of someone else's money and the future of a program such as this one. But it is a good experience for all of us, and luckily Zach is helping me with both my confidence level and the actual work! Here are some before & during pictures of the space they're moving into. I expect AFTERS in about 2 weeks!

Currently the handyman/painter is pulling an all-nighter, so when I go back tomorrow, all of the painting & built-ins should be done. More pics to come!
